School History
Nueva Vista High School was started in 1967 with a Principal, three teachers, and about 50 students. In the 1970s, the enrollment reached almost 200 with 12 teachers, but since 1980, enrollment has stayed closer to 120 students yearly. It was about this time that Independent Study (IS) was offered to Nueva Vista High School students, where they could pick up assignments and complete them at home. In 1990, our first counselor was hired. 1997, we changed our name to Paseo de Oro and moved to the Bassett High School campus. In 1999, our original name was reinstated. In 2007, we returned to our original site at 904 N. Willow Ave.
