Let me start by saying Welcome to Nueva Vista, our school prides itself in providing our students the best teachers and instructional programs.

School Vision:  Nueva Vista’s vision is to engage, educate, and empower its students with an alternative educational model that prepares them for postsecondary education and 21st Century success.

Our Mission: Nueva Vista is a supportive educational environment that tailor's instruction and support to address students' academic, social emotional and vocational needs.  Nueva Vista uses a project based learning model to engage students in relevant challenging learning experiences.  Nueva Vista employs a positive behavior and intervention system to teach and reinforce the skills that all students need for success in life.  Nueva Vista partners with parents, community members, support agencies, and other institutions to provide the highest level of educational services possible.

To achieve our course completion goals NVHS engages in annual teacher and program evaluations.

We welcome you to join us for our Title 1 English Learner meetings (Spanish) to be scheduled throughout the year.  At this time, I do visit our classrooms on-line and once we get back on campus, I will be visiting classrooms for observing instruction and students engaging in project-based learning.     Also, we invite parents with professional careers to speak to our students and teachers, you can set this up with our counselor Ms. James,    We believe that you will be enlightened on the confidence our students share, our goal is to expand their learning with listening  to other  adult presenters, create more interest in learning, and promote higher education  through encouraging all students to engage in transitional counseling to college. Together we can make NVHS a memorable and rewarding experience, let us know how we can further help our students reach their academic goals.

Western Association of School and Colleges, Accreditation

Our accreditation agency is WASC:  Our professional staff works every day to meet the criteria of accreditation with quality, honesty and integrity. Our goal for staff is to make a difference every day for all our students that leads to High School graduation.

In conclusion, NVHS is the center of our Bassett USD Community.  Our students learning success promotes our goals, and we continuously seek more student positive engagement and class participation.  Our high School positive student achievement results is what keeps NVHS  moving forward with  attendance and HS completion rates leading to our annual graduations.
