WHO CAN ATTEND NUEVA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL?
NVHS is a continuation high school program designed for students between 16 and 18 who are credit deficient but still working towards on-time graduation. It offers direct instruction on a seven-period day and online credit recovery. 

HOW DO I ENROLL IN NUEVA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL?
Students at NVHS are normally referred from the comprehensive high school when they have shown credit deficiency due to poor attendance, discipline issues, or other factors. The administration and our counselor review student referrals, and students are scheduled to attend orientation here at school. A parent or guardian must accompany the student. 

Continuation High School students entering from other districts must visit the main office and make an appointment with administration and counseling to determine if NVHS is appropriate for them. Please bring a copy of the student's current transcripts, birth certificate, immunizations, and utility bill.

DOES NUEVA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL HAVE AN INDEPENDENT STUDY PROGRAM? 
NVHS does provide referrals to the Independent Study Program. However, this may not be the ideal choice for students who have struggled in school previously. Students on Long Term Independent Studies will be given a designated teacher and will have classes assigned through our online program. Final approval for Independent Studies must be obtained through Student Services at the District office. To discuss this option, please schedule an appointment with the counselor.

I HAVE MISSED A LOT OF SCHOOL. CAN I STILL ENROLL IN NUEVA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL?
NVHS students come from various backgrounds and have faced challenges in achieving school success. Our counselor can assist you in understanding your credit status and can help you create a plan to graduate from high school.
