Bassett Unified Students Practice Soft Skills During Mock Interviews

LA PUENTE – Ten students from Nueva Vista High School dressed in professional attire, presented resumes and practiced soft skills when they participated in mock interviews at the Bassett Unified District Office on April 9.

“I am participating in the mock interview because I know it will prepare me for future interviews,” said senior Karolyn Alishan. “I plan to apply this summer for administrative assistant jobs, and I know that this practice will make the real thing less intimidating.”

Jessica Estrada, an intervention teacher at Nueva Vista, coordinated the mock interviews with assistance from Instructional Coach and Interventionalist Amy Arreola and Content Area Specialist Giuliana Morales at the District office.

“Bassett Unified School District’s mission is to graduate college- and career-ready students, and organizing these mock interviews is only one of the many ways that our District is staying true to that mission,” said Superintendent Debra French. “Thank you to all of our administrators, teachers and students who participated in the mock interviews.”
